Ok so i figured out (with the help of Teddi n Bundt ofc) That my computer sucks massive raging cocks. I have 1 gig of ram and a 1999 graphics card. My sounds card is also shot. So im asking the good and SMART people of BB to build me a new custom HP or Dell for 500-600 dollars. All help will be thanked.

Don't listen he's outdated don't go with a 260 GTX most stupid move you could do now, since the ati 5870 are out witch blows the 2XX Series out of the fucking way,but the 5870 is like 300ISH,I don't know the price about the 5850 :/.Dough,I would wait for the 3xx series of nvidia we never know. But everyone knows that ati is price/performance. Anyway don't build a computer for 500/600$,save up around 1.2kish and now you should build a computer.Because for 600$ your computer will be already outdated, but yeah don't buy a 260 GTX.Jeez zeke.

YES!!! Eddie! atleast somebody knows about fucking graphics cards. Nvidia fanboys just use nividia because it usually comes with every fucking computer, and their afraid to try a radeon. i have my 4850 i bought about 4 months ago and i can run almost everything max settings (this is because my quad 2.2ghz processor blows)

Wait,I just realized in your original post that you want to custom build a computer from dell?Or hp?Ok forget I don't want to help you anymore. When you decide to build your own pc contact me.

(And for 500-600$ for a Dell or Hp,you will get crap)

Teddi

So you're suggesting for a cheap PC he gets a top range graphics card?

Not exactly wise advice.

Yeah your right, people who says that ati sucks have no reason to say that. They're pretty dumb, even one told me "its sucked because its use amd processor" Gawd that made me lol.Anyway,I like Nvidia they make pretty good gpu but they're expensive, well not for now.But 3xx series expect mad price.

Ok make me a computer that isnt from dell or hp. Only problem is my mother wont buy me a computer unless it has warranty. She thinks ill become bored one day and decide to smash my computer with a hammer. So unless i can convince her to do this or you can make me one ill be completely boned

Not an Nvidia fanboy. ATI sucks ass, and the drivers are terrible, had really bad experiences with their cards...never again!

Teddi

Here's the comparason between Nvidia and ATI: Nvdia from what I've seen in the long run can produce more graphic power, however their drivers are also unstable and are more vunerable to crashes. ATi, Not as much power, but they tend to be stable as fuck. Then again, as long as you don't be stupid with a PC, you're not going to break the card.

Times are tough, people don't exactly have money to save, instead they have the cash in hand at the time and thus they go for it there and then. Then again, I guess asking people to borrow money is easier I suppose.

I'm not a fanboy of either card, I've used both products at one time or another and they've satisfied me greatly.

This bit is true. I've gone through 2 ATi graphics cards, both of them fucked up and the drivers screwed up and my games looked like this :

http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/2696/wtfx.png

However, before my cards fucked up, they served me very well so I would recommend them. I have no idea what caused my card to do that but I hope it doesn't happen to you if you decide to get one.

Yea if you have problems with Nvidia drivers try this website.

http://www.omegadrivers.net/ (they heavily modify the drivers and fix a lot of problems the official drivers don't fix)

They also have ATI drivers but I'm still never going own another one ever again.

No games even utilize DX11 yet so whats the point?

Besides Nvidia 300 series cards come out later this year and no doubt they will have DX11.

To be honest, any DX9+ now is not that going to be a massive change. Each upgrade from Direct X up until 9 was a major change in the design and fundamentals of the engine. DX10 / 11 are now pretty much just optimization. This is why Nvidia is pretty much saying "Yeah, DX isn't as important as it used to be".
