Since </insert Teddi FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF explanation here> nothing is holding me back from me routine formatting of my hard drive. But I realize since I have had vista I have had no reason to format. So I have been trying to do it now (atm) and have yet had no luck.
How the fuck do I format dis bitch?

1. Boot FROM THE DISC
2. Format your drive FROM THE DISC
3. Install... FROM THE DISC
4. Remove disc after installation :3
5. Boot it up and it should be fine.
If it doesnt work my only guess is that your install fucked up.
Optional but Recommended yet not Recommended in a way *hint* : Go get Windows 7
The Jerry

Run nuke and boot to dban your HDD. Then just reinstall the OS
1. Press enter to autonuke
2. Press M to change to quick erase
3. Press V and turn off verify
4. Press space to select your hDD to be DBAN'd
5. Kill all of your data for a clean HDD
http://www.dban.org/download
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DBAN
and check your boot order, make sure it boots Floppy, CD, then HDD.
Then make sure u have no CD or floppy

Really? Reinstalling an OS is pretty easy. Formatting is pretty easy as well. Your computer must be difficult to use.
The Jerry

I'm not having a problem formatting the drive, or installing the OS. Formatting it was easy as hell after I saw what to do, but for some reason when I boot it up after reinstalling the OS it doesn't respond.
Like I said before, I formatted the hard drive from the disc, I reinstalled windows vista, and its simply not cooperation after that. It gives me a black screen permanently on bootup.

LOL jerry can't reformat his pc what a fail
Anyways its stuck? You know what that means? That means your hard drive is dead it happened to me. To confirm your hard drive kicked the can and took a shit its own mouth plug it in to another pc and that wll confirm its dead.
It happened to me once after i shut off my pc one night turned it on stuck at booting up my OS

To be honest, the bog standard Vista without any service packs is problematic and annoying, you would actually be better off with 7. See if you can get a college friend to get you it for $30.
The Jerry

Yeah well this fucking sucks since I was just gonna get that graphics card this week. I'm gonna browse TigerDirect see if I can get both the card and a sizeable HDD. Atm I have $220 spare dollars from saving up over the last summer, the card is $154. So that leaves $66 to buy a HDD.

You can usually get HDD's for pretty cheap, especially a 250GB one.

Here's one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136199
Don't go with any of the "Green" hard drives by any of the companies, they start up slower and always want to spin at lower speeds. I wouldn't go with Seagate either, they have been going down hill lately.

For what I use my PC for I think atleast 500GB^ would be good (ie gigs of porn, lots of games, movies, etc) since I was barely making it with my current 300GB. I found one from WD on TigerDirect at 500GB, 7200rpm, at $54.99.
