Typing this on itouch, so keeping short. Can you use a linksys Pc wireless adapter for use with xbox live? I have plugged it into xbox (which surprisingly fit), but couldn't get configs to work. And adapter was fine, when I plugged it in, the green light indicating power went on. Not internet though because of configs. Is it possible? Safe?

I'm sure it's safe. But i once used a d-link adapter with my 360 and it worked after messing around with it. You have to input all the information manually, don't let the xbox auto config it.
Anythings possible if you believe in yourself
Another thing you can do: Turn a cheap router into a working wireless receiver, works for pc's too.
You will need to flash a router with DD-WRT
list of compatible devices:

Then do this:

Or another option(Requires a laptop and crossover cable)
