Roleplay - New Script and Development

As well known, for a long time we haven't had a roleplay script, nor have I felt the need to have one, seeing as my general outlook on roleplay was "Everyone and their mother/grandmother/insert other thing here did it. Whilst this true, the quality has notably dropped and some people are looking for a place to Roleplay. There has been talks for a while between Whitefang and myself over roleplay, themes, what to do, if we should, possible names for the script etc (For those wondering, Cpf isn't interested in doing roleplay scripts, and I'm not going to try and persuade someone who doesn't enjoy making them to try and make one).

So here's a breakdown of what for the past three weeks I've been deliberating (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/deliberating).




RP09 Failed miserably (Yes, consider this a second announcement that RP09 isn't coming out) due to the fact we were building off an old script. This had two - three major problems. One being that we were having to upgrade the script, then build on top of it, and then we were having to add compatability to newer Gmod syntax and then redo the entire system again.
Because of the above point, we got bored, and development became stale
The new script's name is called Roleplay. No fancy names hurr.
At the moment, it's roughly decided that this script will be RL based. More news about a HL2 Script will come at a later date
It will not be related to the RP0' series. This is a brand new script
Everyones, and I do mean everyones data regarding roleplay has been reset.
It's a fresh script that's using the BBase system.
It's intended to have features that RP09 should have had, and more, without all the horrid lag we originally had
Whitefang and Myself will be developing this
Like RP in the past, it will not be linked towards Deathrun / TTT / Surf etc.
It won't become RPForever

The map this script will be based around is currently unknown. I don't like either Evocities.
Those that had perks paid before, that was with the RP0' series. I still appreciate what you did, and you may still get a special something

Yes, and I announced that RP09 was canned and that I was sorely sorry for it. I'm sorry if you feel bitter about it but things and situations changed over a long period of time. I posted an update video to (try and) show that we are making progress, and we want to do things right. If you want a repeat of RP09 then sure, I'll go ahead and do just that. But if you want something that's playable and actually fun, you're going to have to hold out and not bitch. Don't like it? Feel free to leave.

Uh, when/if my job starts allotting more free time (usually in the next couple months) I can start learning more Lua. I already know a couple languages including C++, Java (extensively), and a little Python.

More on-topic, Putting rp08 back up seems pretty pointless, Old players aren't going to come back for it and new players will be minimum due to competition.
